Butera Knowless yet to announce date for first solo concert

Rwandan singer Butera Knowless has not announced when she will hold her first solo concert, saying the event will depend on having enough time to prepare and deliver a show that meets her fans’ expectations.

She spoke over the weekend after performing at the Improper Access concert at Camp Kigali, where journalists asked when she planned to organise a concert of her own.

“It is a question of timing and preparing properly. When the right time comes, we will give people a concert,” she said.

Her remarks come amid reports that she could stage a solo concert in 2027. However, neither the singer nor KINA Music, which manages her career, has announced a date or confirmed the reported plan.

At Improper Access, Knowless performed several of her songs and introduced her latest release, Ni Njyewe, which she had recently promised to share with her fans.

The song was written and produced by Ishimwe Clement, while its music video was directed by Meddy Saleh.

Knowless has been active in Rwanda’s music industry for more than a decade. She gained wider recognition in 2011 after releasing Komeza, followed by songs including Uzagaruke, Baramushaka, Peke Yangu, Te Amo and Nzaba Mpari.

She has performed at concerts in Rwanda and abroad, including shows organised to promote her albums. In 2015, she became the first woman to win the Primus Guma Guma Super Star competition.

Knowless married Clement in 2016. The two also work together through KINA Music, which is involved in her music career.
