King James takes 20th anniversary tour to Germany

Rwandan singer King James has taken his 20th anniversary celebrations to Europe, performing in Bremen, Germany, as he continues a year-long run of concerts marking two decades in music.

The Bremen show over the weekend brought together Rwandans and other fans from different cities across Germany, with the singer performing songs spanning his career.

King James opened his set to strong applause before moving through some of his best-known songs, from music released during his early years to more recent work.

Fans sang along to the songs and danced during the performance, joining the singer through much of the show.

The concert came after his Aug. 22 performance in Belgium, following two anniversary shows he held in Rwanda on Aug. 1 and 2.

King James is now expected to turn his attention to North America, with concerts planned in the United States and Canada in November and December.

The international performances form part of celebrations of the singer’s 20 years in Rwanda’s music industry.

His career has included music from different periods, and the anniversary concerts are giving fans in Rwanda and abroad an opportunity to celebrate the milestone with him.

The North American dates will bring the latest phase of the anniversary programme to audiences outside Europe later this year.
