Rwanda’s Rayon Sports has reported Mozambique’s Black Bulls to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) over alleged transport and organizational problems that delayed a scheduled training session ahead of Saturday’s CAF Confederation Cup return leg.
Rayon Sports president Murenzi Abdallah said the club submitted a report to CAF after the team struggled to secure transport from its hotel to the training ground on Thursday evening, Oct. 22.
The incident comes as Rayon Sports prepares to overturn a 2-0 first-leg defeat against Black Bulls in the second preliminary round of the 2026-27 CAF Confederation Cup. The return match is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 24, in Mozambique.
According to Murenzi, the team had planned to train at Estádio da Matola, but the vehicle expected to take the players from their hotel arrived late. The club eventually arranged private vehicles to transport the team to the training ground.

Murenzi said efforts to contact Black Bulls officials to resolve the problem were unsuccessful. He cited communication difficulties, incorrect telephone numbers and other obstacles.
“We tried to contact the club’s management, but it did not work. What we did was prepare a report and submit it to CAF, as required by the regulations,” Murenzi said, according to the original report.
He said the first training session went well because it mainly involved light exercises. The second session, scheduled for 7 p.m., began at about 8:30 p.m., which he attributed to poor arrangements by the host club.
Rayon Sports believes the problems may have been deliberate, according to Murenzi. However, the club’s allegations have not been independently verified, and no response from Black Bulls was available in the reports reviewed.
The Rwandan club faces a difficult task in Saturday’s return match after losing the first leg 2-0 at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali on Oct. 17. CAF’s match report confirmed the two-goal victory for Black Bulls.
Rayon Sports must win by at least three goals to advance without a penalty shootout. A two-goal victory would level the aggregate score and send the tie to a penalty shootout, provided no other competition-specific rule changes the outcome.
Murenzi urged supporters to remain confident, saying the team was capable of scoring twice or more as it seeks a return to the Confederation Cup group stage, where it last featured in 2018.
