Rwandan singer The Ben will bring musicians from across East Africa together for the third edition of his The New Year Groove concert on January 1, 2027, in an event he has branded East African G.O.A.T.
The singer has confirmed the date and said he plans to release four new songs before the concert, including solo tracks and collaborations with other artists.
Although he has not announced the guest performers, information obtained indicates that the concert could feature musicians from Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, Tanzania and Kenya. Their names are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
The event has become part of The Ben’s annual music calendar, bringing fans together at the start of the year while giving the singer a platform to showcase new material and collaborate with other performers.
The first edition took place on January 1, 2025, when The Ben presented his Plenty Love album. The concert also featured Rwandan artists including Tom Close, Bushali, Kivumbi King and Kevin Kade.
The second edition was held on January 1, 2026, at BK Arena, where The Ben shared the stage with Bruce Melodie. The performance drew large crowds and attracted attention because of the relationship between the two singers.
The 2027 edition is expected to expand the event’s regional reach by bringing together established performers from neighbouring countries.
The Ben has yet to reveal the full line-up or other details about the show, leaving fans waiting to learn which artists will join him on stage.
