Rwandan singer Nel Ngabo is set to perform in Texas this week as part of a business gathering connecting East African entrepreneurs and investors with counterparts in the United States.
Nel Ngabo will headline the entertainment programme at the gala dinner of the 21st East Africa Business Network (EABN) International Business and Investment Summit, scheduled for October 2-3 in Irving, Texas.
The singer arrived in the United States after performing at the “Beyond Borders” concert in Ottawa, Canada, on September 26. The Canadian show brought together Rwandan artists Kevin Kade, Element EleéeH and DJ Brianne, with The Ben making a surprise appearance.
The Texas summit is expected to bring together company executives, investors, entrepreneurs, traders, professionals and members of the East African diaspora for discussions on business and investment links between East Africa and the United States.
Organisers say this year’s edition will focus on cross-border investment, creating new business opportunities and strengthening economic ties between the two regions.
Nel Ngabo will perform during the gala dinner on October 3, giving the Rwandan artist a platform at an event whose main focus is business and investment.
The performance is part of a broader North American trip for the singer, who has been active in Rwanda’s music industry since 2017.
He joined KINA Music in 2019 and has since released three solo albums with the label. He also worked with singer Platini on the joint album “Vibranium.”
Among Nel Ngabo’s better-known songs are “Muzadukumbura,” “Solo,” “Mutuale,” “Imyaka 3 Rmx” and “Zoli.”
His latest performances in Canada and the United States add to his growing presence among Rwandan artists performing for audiences outside the country.
