Rwandan singer Nel Ngabo is heading back onto the international live-music circuit with performances in Canada this month, following a European festival appearance in August.
The singer arrived in Canada on Sept. 24 ahead of the ‘Beyond Borders’ concert in Ottawa on Sept. 26, where he will perform alongside fellow Rwandan artists Element EleéeH, Kevin Kade and DJ Brianne.
The lineup is scheduled to reunite in Montreal on Oct. 3, giving Nel Ngabo two Canadian dates during the latest stretch of his international performances.
The Canada shows come shortly after his appearance at AfrOstrava 2026 in the Czech Republic in August. He performed at the festival alongside Rwandan singer Kivumbi King and Nigerian artist C Kay.
Nel Ngabo is travelling with Ishimwe Clement, the head of KINA Music, with whom he has worked closely since joining the label in 2019.
The trip also takes the singer back to a market he has performed in before. His last visit to Canada was in 2022, when he took part in several concerts, including a performance in Ottawa.
For the artist, whose real name is Rwangabo Byusa Nelson, international performances have become part of his career alongside his recorded work.
Nel Ngabo entered the music industry in 2017 and signed with KINA Music in 2019 after the label took interest in his work. He has since released three solo albums with the label and collaborated with Platini on the album ‘Vibranium’.
His best-known releases include ‘Muzadukumbura’, ‘Solo’, ‘Mutuale’, ‘Imyaka 3 Rmx’ and ‘Zoli’.
KINA Music’s roster also includes Zuba Ray and Butera Knowless, while the label has worked with artists such as Platini and Tom Close.
Nel Ngabo has also indicated that he is considering staging a solo concert of his own, although he has not announced a date.
For now, his focus is on the Canadian dates, with the Ottawa performance coming four years after his previous appearance in the city and the Montreal show following a week later.
