Rwandan gospel duo Vestine and Dorcas withdraw from Canada concert

Rwandan gospel singers Vestine and Dorcas will not perform at the Vancouver Worship Encounter in Canada after a disagreement with the event organisers, the duo said on Monday.

The singers announced their withdrawal on social media, apologising to fans who had been expecting to see them at the Sept. 12 event in Surrey, British Columbia.

They said the decision followed “unexpected challenges” involving the organisers but did not provide details about the nature of the disagreement.

“We apologise for the impact these changes may have,” the duo said, thanking their supporters for their continued love and understanding.

The organisers of Vancouver Worship Encounter have not publicly commented on the cancellation or explained what led to the dispute.

Vestine and Dorcas were scheduled to perform at the event from 11 p.m. on Sept. 12 until 5 a.m. on Sept. 13 at 5588 188 St. in Surrey.

The duo last performed in Canada in November 2025, when they concluded their Yebo Concerts tour with a series of performances that included a show in Edmonton, Alberta.

Vestine and Dorcas are among Rwanda’s best-known gospel acts and have built a following among Rwandans and other East African communities abroad through their worship music and live performances.
