The Ben’s ‘Inshallah’ delay fuels discussion on release timing

Rwandan artist The Ben is drawing attention after delaying the release of his anticipated single “Inshallah,” which remains unreleased weeks after it was publicly announced.

The discussion intensified in June 2026 when The Ben, whose real name is Mugisha Benjamin, told journalists in Kigali that the song would be released the following week. Fans expected it to drop between June 8 and June 14, but the release did not occur, and no new date has been confirmed.

The delay has placed “Inshallah” at the center of ongoing conversation in Rwanda’s music scene, with fans and industry observers questioning whether the postponement is linked to production delays or part of the artist’s creative process.

The anticipation follows a relatively quiet period for The Ben’s solo output. His last solo release, “Indabo Zanjye,” came out on Dec. 27, 2025, ahead of his BK Arena New Year concert in Kigali. The song went on to surpass one million views on YouTube and featured prominently in his live performance at the event.

Since then, The Ben has focused on collaborations and upcoming projects, including reported international work with artists such as Diamond Platnumz and Jose Chameleone. However, no new solo single has been released.

The singer has previously said he does not follow fixed release schedules, stating that he releases music when he considers it ready rather than under external pressure.

The delay has also drawn attention within the industry. Fellow artist Bruce Melodie has indicated that his upcoming track “Irya 4” may be released after “Inshallah,” adding to anticipation around both projects.

The Ben is scheduled to perform at the “Summer Country Tour” in Rubavu on July 4, 2026, alongside Bruce Melodie, Bwiza and Kitoko.

As of publication, no release date for “Inshallah” has been announced.
