
Rwanda and Poland have taken significant steps to strengthen their bilateral relations, with ministerial-level talks focusing on expanding cooperation in key areas such as investment, education, and technology.
The discussions held on December 10, 2025, brought together Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Amb. Olivier Jean Patrick Nduhungirehe, and Poland’s Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wojciech Zajączkowski.

According to Rwanda’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both leaders also exchanged views on current developments in regional and multilateral issues.
This meeting comes at a time when the diplomatic relationship between Kigali and Warsaw continues to grow stronger.
The growing partnership between Rwanda and Poland has been marked by several milestones in recent years. In 2021, Rwanda opened an embassy in Warsaw, a gesture reciprocated by Poland with the establishment of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kigali in December 2022.
These diplomatic initiatives have further enhanced the rapidly evolving cooperation between the two countries.
Over the years, Rwanda and Poland have worked together in diverse sectors such as higher education, defense, agriculture, trade, and investment.
As of 2024, more than 1,500 Rwandan students were studying in Poland. Poland has also been a key supporter of Rwanda’s educational initiatives, notably backing the School and Education Centre for Visually Impaired Children in Kibeho, located in the Southern Province of Rwanda During Polish President Andrzej Duda’s visit to Kigali in February 2024, the two countries signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at promoting trade and economic cooperation.
These agreements also focused on collaboration in green technologies, environmental engineering, geology, and energy efficiency.
In a further effort to strengthen ties, Rwanda and Poland signed an Air Service Agreement on November 13, 2024, to facilitate regular flights between the two countries, creating opportunities to enhance economic and cultural exchanges.
