He said the company had promised $315,000 but failed to deliver the money by the expected date of September 15, affecting the club’s financial plans.

Jayrutty reportedly told Rayon Sports it had faced difficulties linked to the conflict in the Middle East, which affected its planned sales of club merchandise.

Rayon Sports had expected to use some of the anticipated funds, alongside $50,000 received from the Confederation of African Football (CAF), to settle the three players’ cases.

However, Murenzi said the CAF money arrived while the club was also facing salary arrears affecting other players. Management chose to use it to pay about 30 players rather than prioritise only the three foreign recruits. The women’s team also had outstanding payments, he said.

The president said club officials had explained the financial situation to the three players. Two accepted the explanation, but Eldinho did not, according to Murenzi.

He added that their omission from the squad for the match against Gorilla FC followed a decision to reduce the number of foreign players selected.

Rayon Sports lost that league match 1-0 and now face a home fixture against Mozambique’s Black Bulls at Amahoro Stadium on October 17.

Murenzi said the club was seeking a solution to the players’ cases ahead of its upcoming fixtures, including the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup. Resolving the issues would give the club more options as it pursues its continental campaign.

Rayon Sports are working to resolve financial issues affecting three foreign players who have yet to play for the club, with president Murenzi Abdallah saying […]

[49,43,41,35,27,40

post-4473","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-africa-news","category-current_affairs","category-hot_topics","category-regional","category-sports","category-top_stories
["GET
