{"id":4319,"date":"2026-10-07T09:14:28","date_gmt":"2026-10-07T09:14:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/?p=4319"},"modified":"2026-10-07T09:14:28","modified_gmt":"2026-10-07T09:14:28","slug":"rwanda-volleyball-federation-honoured-for-contribution-to-african-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/index.php\/2026\/10\/07\/rwanda-volleyball-federation-honoured-for-contribution-to-african-game\/sports\/","title":{"rendered":"Rwanda volleyball federation honoured for contribution to African game"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"682\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/img_0108.jpg-ca7d2-682x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4320\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/img_0108.jpg-ca7d2-682x1024.jpg 682w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/img_0108.jpg-ca7d2-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/img_0108.jpg-ca7d2-767x1152.jpg 767w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/img_0108.jpg-ca7d2.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 682px) 100vw, 682px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Rwanda Volleyball Federation (FRVB) has been recognised by the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) for its contribution to the development of the sport on the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FRVB President Ngarambe Rapha\u00ebl received the award during a CAVB forum held in Sal, Cape Verde, on Oct. 4, with the federation announcing the recognition on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The award cited FRVB&#8217;s performance and its contribution to the growth of volleyball in Africa, including Rwanda&#8217;s hosting of the 2026 CAVB Africa Men&#8217;s Club Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The continental tournament brought together top-performing men&#8217;s clubs from across Africa and was held in Kigali from April 20 to May 3, with matches played at BK Arena and Petit Stade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CAVB also recognised Rwanda&#8217;s organisation of the championship and President Paul Kagame&#8217;s support for the tournament, including his attendance at several matches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rwanda was further commended for its cooperation with CAVB, particularly its facilitation of visas for African players, officials and other participants attending international competitions hosted in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The recognition comes after Police VC became the first Rwandan club to reach the final of the 2026 men&#8217;s continental championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Rwandan side finished runners-up after losing 3-0 to Egypt&#8217;s Al Ahly SC in the final.
