Imports included petroleum products and fertiliser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government now wants to expand the range of Rwandan products sold in Oman, with horticulture, minerals and processed agricultural goods identified as potential areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ntawebasa said a trade and investment MoU signed during President Paul Kagame\u2019s September visit to Oman could help businesses in both countries increase investment and identify areas for cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agreement was among two agreements and six MoUs signed during the September 7-8 visit, which covered trade and investment, logistics, agriculture, labour and other areas of bilateral cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, Oman has become an important source of petroleum products for Rwanda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ntawebasa said OQ Trading Ltd, Oman\u2019s state-owned petroleum trading company, supplied Rwanda with two consignments of about 40,000 tonnes each through Tanzania\u2019s Tanga port in July and August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A third shipment of about 40,000 tonnes was expected through Kenya\u2019s Mombasa port in September, with each consignment comprising roughly 20,000 tonnes of petrol and 20,000 tonnes of diesel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She said the arrangement has provided Rwanda with another route for importing petroleum products through regional ports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new agreements also include cooperation on logistics, inland and dry ports and supply-chain services, areas expected to support the movement and management of goods between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rwanda is looking to increase exports to Oman after recording a trade relationship heavily weighted toward imports, with petroleum products making up a significant part [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":4050,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2,43,3,53,41,36,40],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-4049","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-business","category-current_affairs","category-economy","category-featured-stories","category-hot_topics","category-international","category-top_stories"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4049","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=4049"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4049\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":4051,"href":"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4049\/revisions\/4051"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/4050"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=4049"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=4049"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=4049"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
