Nduhungirehe and his Cypriot counterpart Constantinos Kombos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agreement establishes a framework for air transport cooperation between Rwanda and Cyprus and is intended to facilitate and improve air services between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1003\" src=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/98320960-cb74-4fab-ad2c-c8d68c72ec65-1024x1003.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3915\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/98320960-cb74-4fab-ad2c-c8d68c72ec65-1024x1003.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/98320960-cb74-4fab-ad2c-c8d68c72ec65-300x294.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/98320960-cb74-4fab-ad2c-c8d68c72ec65-768x752.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/98320960-cb74-4fab-ad2c-c8d68c72ec65.jpeg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The signing took place alongside discussions between the two foreign ministers on strengthening bilateral cooperation, as well as regional and international issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agreement adds to growing diplomatic engagement between Rwanda and Cyprus and provides a framework for closer cooperation in the aviation sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Neither government immediately provided details on when direct flights could begin or which airlines and routes could operate under the agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cyprus, an EU member state in the eastern Mediterranean, has its capital in Nicosia and a population of more than 1.3 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"836\" src=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/whatsapp_image_2026-09-23_at_09.35_29_1_.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3916\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/whatsapp_image_2026-09-23_at_09.35_29_1_.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/whatsapp_image_2026-09-23_at_09.35_29_1_-300x245.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/whatsapp_image_2026-09-23_at_09.35_29_1_-768x627.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agreement comes as Rwanda seeks to expand its international air connectivity and strengthen links with markets beyond Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rwanda\u2019s national carrier, RwandAir, already operates an expanding network connecting Kigali with destinations across Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
