The projects are also linked to Rwanda\u2019s five-year government programme, known as NST2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">South Korea is among Rwanda\u2019s development partners, with the Asian country providing $22.6 million in assistance to Rwanda in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rwanda\u2019s Foreign Affairs Minister Olivier Jean-Patrick Nduhungirehe has previously cited South Korea\u2019s development experience as an example for African countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said South Korea had once been a recipient of official development assistance but had since become a provider of aid to other countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSouth Korea\u2019s development journey is a model that Africa can learn from,\u201d Nduhungirehe said, noting that about 50 to 60 years ago, South Korea\u2019s economy was comparable to those of many African countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"671\" src=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/HRystGJbwAAA3nH-scaled-1-1024x671.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3669\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/HRystGJbwAAA3nH-scaled-1-1024x671.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/HRystGJbwAAA3nH-scaled-1-300x196.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/HRystGJbwAAA3nH-scaled-1-767x503.jpeg 767w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/HRystGJbwAAA3nH-scaled-1-1536x1007.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/HRystGJbwAAA3nH-scaled-1-2048x1342.jpeg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rwanda and South Korea established diplomatic relations in 1963.
