APR led 64-38 at halftime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"510\" height=\"680\" src=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/adfffda4-251d-49e4-a5f8-d63248ba3e8a.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3087\" style=\"width:719px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/adfffda4-251d-49e4-a5f8-d63248ba3e8a.jpeg 510w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/adfffda4-251d-49e4-a5f8-d63248ba3e8a-225x300.jpeg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 510px) 100vw, 510px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The third quarter followed a similar pattern, with Mamadou Diagne and Randall continuing to find the basket. Randall was particularly effective from 3-point range as APR stretched its lead to 97-61 heading into the final quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Patriots attempted to reduce the deficit in the fourth quarter, with Hubert Sage Kwizera among its leading scorers, but APR maintained control until the final buzzer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Teafale Leonard, Ndayisaba and Filer also contributed as APR secured its first win of the best-of-three final series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Randall led all scorers with 40 points for APR, while Garba Kennedy and Kwizera Sage each scored 17 for Patriots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The teams will meet again Thursday at BK Arena for Game 2, with APR needing another victory to strengthen its position in the series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The women&#8217;s playoff final also begins Thursday at the same venue, with REG WBBC facing The Hoops.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>APR BBC made a strong start to the 2025-26 Rwanda Basketball League playoffs final, beating Patriots BBC 117-91 on Tuesday night at BK Arena.
