{"id":3055,"date":"2026-08-18T16:23:19","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T16:23:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/?p=3055"},"modified":"2026-08-18T16:27:16","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T16:27:16","slug":"bpr-fortis-green-housing-partner-to-expand-access-to-home-loans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/index.php\/2026\/08\/18\/bpr-fortis-green-housing-partner-to-expand-access-to-home-loans\/economy\/","title":{"rendered":"BPR, Fortis Green Housing partner to expand access to home loans"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1001\" height=\"741\" src=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/bpld.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3057\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/bpld.jpg 1001w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/bpld-300x222.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/bpld-768x569.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1001px) 100vw, 1001px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BPR Bank Rwanda Plc and Fortis Green Housing have partnered to make it easier for Rwandans and people in the diaspora to finance homes at the Masaka Views Eco-Estate in Kigali.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The partnership, signed Aug. 13, allows eligible buyers to seek mortgage financing from BPR to purchase homes in the residential development in Masaka, Kicukiro district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first phase of the project will have 92 housing units, while the wider development is planned to include 302 apartments, 51 family homes and 33 townhouses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"987\" height=\"606\" src=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/brinn-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3062\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/brinn-1.jpg 987w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/brinn-1-300x184.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/brinn-1-768x472.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 987px) 100vw, 987px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prices for the homes range from 103 million to 235 million Rwandan francs, depending on the type of unit and finishing package selected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Forty-four units in the first phase are currently available, including four four-bedroom homes, seven three-bedroom homes, 11 three-bedroom townhouses and 22 two-bedroom townhouses. Buyers can choose from Essential, Standard and Luxe finishing packages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under the agreement, eligible buyers can apply for mortgage financing of up to the full value of a property, subject to the bank\u2019s assessment of their income, affordability and ability to repay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"970\" height=\"656\" src=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/bpr-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3060\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/bpr-1.jpg 970w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/bpr-1-300x203.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/bpr-1-768x519.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 970px) 100vw, 970px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applicants will need documents including a provisional sale agreement, a property valuation report and proof of a reliable source of income, such as a salary, rental earnings or other stable income.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BPR Managing Director Patience Mutesi said access to suitable financing is key to helping more people achieve homeownership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe believe that access to appropriate and flexible financing is an important part of making homeownership a reality for more Rwandans,\u201d Mutesi said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bank will guide buyers through the financing process, from application and approval to construction milestones, completion and handover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Masaka Views Eco-Estate is being developed as a planned residential community with energy-efficient homes and environmentally conscious construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Construction began in 2025.
