The 22 to be named this year will bring the total to 460. The ceremony has attracted political leaders, researchers, investors, athletes, artists and other prominent figures involved in conservation and tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Musanze, the event is also expected to generate business. Northern Province Gov. Volcanoes National Park generated nearly $35.8 million, making it the largest source of park tourism revenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Domestic tourism also continued to grow, with the number of Rwandans visiting national parks increasing 8.1% to more than 59,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"678\" height=\"452\" src=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/dd-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2926\" style=\"width:770px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/dd-1.jpg 678w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/dd-1-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 678px) 100vw, 678px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">About 1,100 mountain gorillas remain in the wild.
