{"id":2562,"date":"2026-07-27T15:21:16","date_gmt":"2026-07-27T15:21:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/?p=2562"},"modified":"2026-07-27T15:21:16","modified_gmt":"2026-07-27T15:21:16","slug":"mount-meru-group-to-acquire-vivo-energys-rwanda-malawi-operations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/index.php\/2026\/07\/27\/mount-meru-group-to-acquire-vivo-energys-rwanda-malawi-operations\/economy\/business\/","title":{"rendered":"Mount Meru Group to acquire Vivo Energy\u2019s Rwanda, Malawi operations"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"542\" src=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/mount_meru_group_cover-1024x542.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2563\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/mount_meru_group_cover-1024x542.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/mount_meru_group_cover-300x159.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/mount_meru_group_cover-768x407.jpg 768w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/mount_meru_group_cover.jpg 1173w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mount Meru Group has agreed to acquire Vivo Energy\u2019s shareholding in its Rwanda and Malawi businesses, a move expected to bring new investment and strengthen fuel distribution operations in both markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The companies announced Monday that they had signed a sale and purchase agreement covering Vivo Energy\u2019s network of more than 40 service stations in Rwanda and more than 50 in Malawi, along with the businesses\u2019 commercial fuel and lubricants operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vivo Energy said it selected Mount Meru Group as a partner with the regional experience and long-term investment plans needed to continue developing the businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mount Meru, which entered Rwanda in 2007 and Malawi in 2013, has built a presence in fuel distribution across Africa.
