High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development that achieving the SDGs will require countries to back their commitments with adequate financing, effective institutions and policies that translate into tangible development outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His remarks come as governments face growing pressure to close a widening financing gap that has slowed progress on the global goals, with poverty, climate change and inequality continuing to undermine development efforts in many parts of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/whatsapp_image_2026-07-13_at_23.43_54-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2317\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/whatsapp_image_2026-07-13_at_23.43_54-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/whatsapp_image_2026-07-13_at_23.43_54-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/whatsapp_image_2026-07-13_at_23.43_54-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/whatsapp_image_2026-07-13_at_23.43_54.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Murangwa said Rwanda&#8217;s own experience shows that long-term planning, coupled with sustained investment and private-sector participation, can help drive inclusive economic growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said investment in essential public services\u2014including healthcare, education and infrastructure\u2014has been central to improving living standards and creating the conditions for sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The minister also identified innovation and private enterprise as critical drivers of economic transformation, calling for policies that encourage entrepreneurship and technological advancement to boost productivity and create jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To mobilize more resources for development, Murangwa urged wider use of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), saying they allow governments and businesses to combine resources to finance large-scale projects in infrastructure, energy and other strategic sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/whatsapp_image_2026-07-13_at_23.43_54_1_.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2318\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/whatsapp_image_2026-07-13_at_23.43_54_1_.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/whatsapp_image_2026-07-13_at_23.43_54_1_-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thedawnrwanda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/whatsapp_image_2026-07-13_at_23.43_54_1_-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also highlighted blended finance as an important tool for attracting private capital by combining funding from governments, development partners and private investors, helping reduce investment risks while expanding financing for high-impact projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Murangwa said Rwanda&#8217;s progress has been guided by the country&#8217;s Vision 2050 development strategy, which prioritizes long-term economic transformation and improved living standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development is the United Nations&#8217; main platform for reviewing progress toward the 2030 Agenda.
