RGB Suspends Rayon Sports’ Leadership Amid Governance Issues

On November 25, 2025, Rwanda’s National Governance Authority (RGB) dissolved all elected leadership bodies of Rayon Sports, including the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Audit Committee, and Dispute Resolution Committee.

The decision aims to address ongoing governance problems affecting the club’s operations, management, and contribution to Rwandan sports development.

RGB has appointed an interim committee for three months, led by Murenzi Abdallah, with members Jean Bosco Ubumwe, Josee Akayezu, Gakwaya Olivier, and Nsabimana Batiste.

The committee will review and reform club statutes, oversee governance structures, conduct external audits, and manage daily operations during the transitional period.

The move follows long-standing disputes between Rayon Sports’ leadership factions, which have negatively impacted team performance, fan confidence, and overall club stability.

RGB will continue supporting the club to ensure proper governance and restore organizational stability.
