
The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) could return to the World Cup for the first time in 52 years if it wins its f inal match.
Les Leopards reached the intercontinental playoff final for a 2026 World Cup spot.
The six team playoff features DRC and Iraq directly in the final, while Bolivia, Jamaica, New Caledonia, and Suriname play semi-finals. Winners will face DRC and Iraq for qualification.
So far, 42 teams have qualified, with the remaining six decided in March 2026.
The 2026 World Cup runs 11 June–19 July across the US, Canada, and Mexico.
