Curacao secureshistoric spot

Curacao became the smallest nation ever to qualify for the World Cup after drawing with Jamaica, ending their unbeaten 2026 qualifying campaign with seven wins in 10 matches.

Coached by 78-year-old Dick Advocaat, the team features Dutch-born players with Curacaoan heritage.

The Caribbean Island, population 150,000, will debut at the expanded 48-team 2026 World Cup alongside debutants Cape Verde, Uzbekistan, and Jordan.
