MOBILE MONEY LIMITED LAUNCHES ‘BIVAMOMOTIMA 3’ TO REWARD MERCHANTS AND PROMOTE CASHLESS TRANSACTIONS

Mobile Money Limited has officially launched the third edition of its popular ‘BivaMoMotima’ campaign, this time focusing on rewarding merchants who actively use MoMoPay for transactions. The campaign, which starts today, will incentivize merchants who receive payments from customers through their MoMoPay codes and make payments to other merchants using the service. As a grand prize, two lucky merchants will each win a pickup truck.

Speaking at the launch, Chantal Kagame, CEO of Mobile Money Limited, emphasized the significance of the campaign in promoting digital transactions and financial inclusion. “We are proud to launch this campaign as we celebrate a major milestone—reaching 500,000 merchants last year. We had a total of 3.3 million users of MoMoPay services actively paying these merchants, which aligns with the government’s strategy to drive a cashless economy. This achievement reflects the trust that businesses across Rwanda have placed in Mobile Money as a reliable payment solution. ‘BivaMoMotima 3’ is our way of thanking them and encouraging more merchants to join the MoMoPay network for seamless, secure, and efficient transactions,” she said.

The ‘BivaMoMotima’ campaign has been instrumental in Mobile Money Limited’s broader mission to advance digital financial inclusion. This third edition builds on the success of previous campaigns by specifically recognizing and rewarding merchants, who are essential in strengthening the cashless payment ecosystem in Rwanda.

MoMoPay provides merchants with a convenient and secure alternative to cash transactions, allowing them to receive payments through a dedicated USSD code. With over half a million merchants already registered, Mobile Money Limited aims to expand its network by encouraging more businesses to embrace digital payments for improved efficiency and security.

By launching ‘BivaMoMotima 3,’ Mobile Money Limited continues its commitment to empowering businesses and driving Rwanda’s digital economy forward, one transaction at a time.
